As Carmelites we turn for help to the Virgin Mary, Mother of God and of the Church, who lives and radiates perfectly the double theological watershed: from the Trinity to Mary, from Mary to the Trinity, and that she is the perfect example for all consecrated souls.

We take Mary as “the sublime example of perfect consecration, by virtue of her total belonging and surrender to God. Chosen by the Lord, who wished to fulfill in her the mystery of the Incarnation, she reminds the consecrated person she is the first fruit of the initiative of God. At the same time, having given her consent to the divine Word that became flesh in her, Mary is the model of acceptance of grace on the part of the human creature”(VC 28).



In our consecrated lives we contemplate her as the sublime model of consecration to the Father, of union with the Son and docility to the Spirit, knowing full well that identifying ourselves with “the type of life in poverty and virginity” (LG 53) of Christ signifies to take upon oneself the type of life of Mary (VC 28).
